Welcome
The Gondwana Tree-ring Lab is involved in research programmes both in New Zealand and other countries. The focus of most of these programmes is past climate reconstruction using tree-rings (i.e. dendroclimatology) with the aim being to help provide information about the past that enables us to better evaluate the present and future predictions of changing climate.
The laboratory is able to involved in the full-range of tree-ring research from field sampling to the publication of findings. Much of its work has been done in collaboration with other groups in institutions such as:
The Radiocarbon Dating Laboratory, Waikato University, NZ.
The Tree-ring Laboratory, School of Geography, Geology and Ecological Sciences, University of Auckland, NZ.
Monash University
Tree-ring Lab, LDEO, Columbia University
Exeter University.
